Course Description
Through this course teachers will learn how the effective use of technology
for teaching and learning engages students, promotes mastery of curriculum
goals, and addresses the diverse learning styles found in today's classrooms.
The course will highlight interactive technologies, Web 2.0 applications, and
media that provide multiple pathways for students to gain knowledge, demonstrate
understanding, and develop 21st Century skills. The course will present
strategies and model lessons that can be conducted in a lab setting, a
one-computer classroom using interactive whiteboards or other projection
devices, and in a wireless laptop classroom environment. The instructor
will guide participants through the design of a content-specific curriculum unit
that will address the diverse needs of students in today's classrooms.
