Family/Guardian Letter Mailed on 3.18.20

March 18, 2020

Dear Students, Families and Guardians,

We are anxiously looking forward to the day when we can re-open our doors to students and staff.  We appreciate your help in engaging your child in learning during this school closure.

You will receive a mailed envelope that includes the following to guide you through the coming weeks:

  • A letter from your Program Director(s)
  • A list of places where you can get breakfast and/or lunch for your children in your hometown.  That list is also provide by see the attachment below. In most towns, there is a school that is giving out breakfast and/or lunch to all children who live in the town.  Be sure to check the hours and school location. If we could not find a school location we have tried to provide another source of food for you to contact.  If you or someone you know in MA is in need of food during this time, please call Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline at 1-800-645-8333.
  • Materials and resources to help your child stay connected to learning during the closure of schools.  Please share these materials with your child during the coming weeks.  These materials will not replace school but will help to keep your child connected to learning and connected to our staff.  All of these materials and activities are suggested. You may opt to engage your child in other ways. READS will be in contact with you to help maintain connections to the educators that know your child best.  The resources will be posted on the website next week as well.
