READS Collaborative is moving forward with the design phase of a facility expansion for the East Grove Street campus! The Board of Directors has selected an Owner's Project Manager - Dan Tavares of Compass Group Associates and an Architectural Firm - Studio G.
We are inviting families and community members who have an interest in the future of READS to join us in shaping the vision of the next 30+ years of READS programs and services. We invite you to engage in a two-part visioning session to launch the deeper dive into the future of the facility.
Please join us on two consecutive Thursday afternoons from 2:30 - 5:30, July 19th and July 26th in the lower level conference room of the administration building.

Facility Design Visioning Overview
Please join us on July 19 and 26, 2018, from 2:30-5:30 PM in the READS Collaborative conference room, for two Educational Visioning Workshops run by New Vista Design and Studio G Architects. Each workshop will be a collaborative, engaging and hands-on session designed to inform READS Collaborative’s facility design process. Participants will be led through a visioning process aimed at capturing their best thinking about READS Collaborative’s current and future educational goals and priorities, and then connecting them to best practices and possibilities in innovative school facility design.
On Thursday, July 19 the three-hour long workshop will the following topics:
Priority Goals for the renovated/new facility
21st century teaching and learning practices envisioned for READS Collaborative’s academic and therapeutic programs now and in the future
21st Century Learning Goals that distill the group’s best thinking with regard to READS Collaborative’s current and future educational programming and priorities
Forward Thinking Programs and Initiatives at READS Collaborative
On Thursday, July 26 the three-hour long workshop will the following topics:
21st Century Design Patterns that innovative schools throughout the country have put into practice in order to make their forward-thinking learning goals come alive on the level of facility design
Blue Sky Ideas that participants think would make the envisioned READS Collaborative program and facility come to life
Guiding Principles and priorities for the design of the new and/or renovated facility
Participants will receive Contact Hours toward PDPs.
