Our Assistive Technology Team (AT Team) is comprised of a speech and language AT consultant and occupational therapist who are trained in evaluating and recommending low, medium, and high tech supports, including speech generating devices (AAC). The AT Team conducts AT and AAC evaluations and provides ongoing consultations to schools and districts to support implementation of technology tools. The AT Team works with school districts' platforms to supplement their existing structure to enhance student learning and access to curriculum, whether that be Google for Education, Microsoft, etc.

AAC - The AT Team works with students and school teams to determine appropriate AAC programs to explore, evaluate, and trial during the evaluation and consultation processes. Once a specific AAC app is recommended for trial, an iPad equipped with the recommended app is available for loan to the district through District Services.

The AT Team utilizes the SETT model in our evaluations to consider the:
Student needs, strengths and weaknesses.
Environment: physical space, materials, equipment and supports.
Tasks: what the student needs to be able to do, referring to the IEP objectives.
Tools: what will help the student accomplish the task(s).
